The Journey, Part IV.
Having had a wonderful short week at home it was hard to say goodbye to home comforts again so soon. But mum kindly offered to drive Michael and I to Heathrow so off we went. It goes without saying therefore that we rocked up early and had plenty of time to cruise around the terminal before our scheduled flight time. I think/(hope) that my spell of bad travelling luck may be over since we encountered no disasters, and the plane took off on time. In fact, I was rather impressed by how spacious the seats and leg room were on Cathay Pacific. There were even free unlimited snacks! Everything went absolutely swimmingly for the first few hours and, having watched a cheeky film (of which there was a generous selection), I decided it was time to try to nod off. It was at this point that the only minor bump in the journey occurred, wherein the lady sat in the seat directly in front of me vomited, causing a not so pleasant smell to be trapped in the air. However I would take this over my previous travelling experiences any day of the week. I managed to get a few hours broken sleep in whilst Michael suffered tossing and turning through the night. He will just have to find a way to cope though as with an 8-hour time difference and much exploring and birthday celebrating to be done, there shall be no rest for the wicked! Let the games begin, I am SO excited.
